🚨DUPE ALERT 🚨 we found 3 great alternatives for the @maccosmetics paint pot in 'Painterly' ($22). First option is the @nyxcosmetics eye base in nude ($7) which has a creamy base just like MAC. 2nd is the @jordana_cosmetics eye Primer ($2) it is a 3-in-1 Primer and is smooth and feels lightweight! Soft Ochre, PainterlySoft Ochre and Painterly are matte eyeshadow bases that also act as a primer and eyelid concealer. In MAC terms Painterly is NW (cool toned) and Soft Ochre is NC (warm toned). The reason I am doing today's comparison is because I think that there is a lot of confusion when it comes to these two!

I apply Soft Ochre with my ring finger all over my eyelids right upto the brow bone, even in the corners of the eyes near the bridge of the nose. Blending needs to be done real quickly, as it sets within a few seconds. Once it sets, it sets well and proper. Some of you may find this funny, but I have started using it as a ‘nose base’; yes, you read right, a nose base, it controls the oil on my nose when applied beneath foundation (in winter) and powder foundation (in summer)!! These days I have become quite averse to applying pencil eyeliners, in order to prevent pulling and tightlining my eyes, so using this Paint Pot as an eyeshadow base, also helps to avoid the pulling and stretching the skin which I used to do when applying gel foundation and pressed powder as an eyeshadow base. So far, I have never used a brush to apply this, I prefer applying this with my ring finger.
