Adding text to photos on Windows XP/7/8/10 with Paint Photo Editor Paint is one of the oldest programs on Windows, and although it is commonly known as a software for drawing, it also enables you to add text to photos. Using Fotor’s Text Editor in 4 Simple Steps. Open you collage, design or photo in Fotor. Using the 'Text' button, select and drag a text box to desired location. Modify text, altering font, color, size and transparency. Preview and save your work, choosing the size and format you wish.

Press delete to make this part of the image transparent or tap Command+C to copy your selection, making it available in Clipboard.

I'm the only one working on GIMP on OS X and in the last few days I didn't have time to build some 2.8 user manual package. I've just decided to first make 2.8 available for Mac OS X. Yes, I've disabled the use of the 2.6 manual in GIMP 2.8.0.
