Click the Start Button Step 13: When you are promoted to select an image, select the ubuntu.iso image downloaded in Step 5. Step 14: Select “Install Ubuntu” from the screen, then “Continue” from the next screen and then keeping the defaults, finally “Install Now”.

It's not really fair to Garageband, those types of tasks are not what it's meant for. As I said maybe the process/procedure is better now, but I still keep my machines locked down from updates once I've got everything working the way it should. Had another update that killed the AJ I/O video/audio interface. While certainly powerful and enabling for kids / teens, music amateurs and basic demoing purposes I wouldn't put Garageband in the same ballpark as any of the pro / semi-pro DAWs like Logic, ProTools, Reaper, Cubase, Sonor, DP, etc. Is it worth buying a 2012 mac mini for recording.
