Unfortunately, as far as I can determine, there is no WordPerfect program for Macs (with the possible exception of an ancient version that probably will not recognize modern WordPerfect formats). I hate to mess with Parallels and XP to keep my WordPerfect, but I will if I have to. I will appreciate any words of wisdom and that anyone on this learned forum may have with respect to alternatives. I tried AbiWord and I believe I even tried OpenOffice and I think they both open the documents, but they kind of mess up the formatting.

I decided to stick with WordPerfect 10 on Parallels/Boot Camp but if anyone else here has another program that will open and save WordPerfect documents and retain the original formatting, I would also be interested and appreciative of any suggestion. Manfred, the last WordPerfect version supported on Macs was 3.5e and you need the special updater to run that on Mac OS 8.x or Mac OS 9.x.x.

You may be able to get away with using that verson of WP on new Intel Macs by running it in an emulator, such as, SheepShaver or Basilisk II. What you may have to do is, whether using Mac or Windows version of WordPerfect, save the documents in version 3.5e format and open them up in WP3.5e running in the emulator and go from there. The other option(s) would be to open the WP documents in Mac Link Plus Deluxe, save in another format and use another word processing suite to open it, or go open source by using OpenOffice. It's your choice.
