Best Modem For 2010 Mac

Thanks for all for the advice. I settled on the netgear N300 DSL wireless modem router this morning. What an absolute struggle to get this device to connect to the Internet. We used the netgear device as a wireless connection, all my devices could connect to her, but we just could not connect to the Internet. The Vox Telecom technician was here for about three hours, and another two hours on the line with telkom who confirmed the Adsl was active, then we went from first to second level support at Vox, all very helpful technicians, but no results. Updated the firmware on the device also, but that didnt help. Office professional plus 2016. Tried to get the device to be a DSL modem only without wifi connectivity, didn't work either.
Can't see anything wrong with my macs as the wireless connection via I-burst still works. I think it could be a problem with this modem/router and will attempt to exchange for a new one tomorrow or just purchase one of the modems mentioned above.
I have yet to get the AirPort Extreme, so the netgear device was connected directly to my Mac via Ethernet. Thanks for all for the advice.

Nothing special. Anything that supports ADSL2+ will work, although many of us have found that modems with Broadcom chipsets tend to work out well.

Looks like the 30 minutes turnaround time confirming your ADSl line and account, takes much longer than advertised. I settled for an Airport extreme and one extra airport express to extend the wireless network. I returned the Netgear/wireless modem and settled for a basic R270 modem from TP-link The airports were a breeze to setup and the range is fantastic.
