Hi all, are there any known issues with the Lync for Mac 2011 client under Mac OS X Mavericks running against Lync Server 2013 that causes issues with searching for contacts. Microsoft teams app download. What I am seeing is that as long as I have the contact in my contacts folder in Outlook I can add it to my buddy list in Lync 2011. Presence works etc. However, other contacts in our AD are not searchable from within Lync which causes an issue if I want to chat with someone but not add them to my contacts in Outlook. If I run Lync 2013 in Windows 8 everything works the way it should. I run Lync for Mac with OSX Mavericks and have not experienced that issue.

(Curious note: Microsoft has a page up for Skype for Business apps: Download Skype for Business across all your If you use Lync for Mac, uninstall it before installing Skype for Business. If you are trying to share a PowerPoint presentation using Lync on Mac then you should be aware that this feature is not available yet. For any reason, the feature is not available in the Mac version.
You could try enabling logging (Lync > Preferences > General > Turn on logging for troubleshooting It will create a log file in /users/username/library/logs/Microsoft-Lync-0.log You should be able to see where you attempted searching: StartSearch: 'SEARCH: start done searchDB = 0x7C1CA1E8 for 'yoursearchterm', hr = 0x8000000a' Do any errors occur after that and before: 14:17:54.675 62A7:A03F81A8 INFO:: OnContactQueryFinished: 'OnContactQueryFinished. Query = 7ED2C268, hr = 0'. I'm getting the same thing. I checked my error logs as suggested and am getting the following kind of errors: 11:13:47.727 22AA:A13881A8 ERROR:: GetHomePageURL: 'Error: returning hr = 80070002 - ' 11:13:47.817 22AA:A13881A8 ERROR:: GetCalendarStatus: 'Error: returning hr = 80EE0058 - ' 11:13:47.820 22AA:A13881A8 ERROR:: AddObserver: 'Error: returning hr = 80000003' 11:13:47.977 22AA:A13881A8 ERROR:: Dereference: 'Error: hr = 8000000A' Since upgrading to Mavericks, I haven't been able to search our GAL.
Edit: Lync version 14.0.6 on a fresh install of Mavericks. I tried adding in Contacts from my Exchange account (in Sys Pref), which allowed my calendar to search the GAL, but still no luck in Lync). Reformat toshiba canvio.
You need to run this command on Lync server in Lync dedicated power shell. To get your current settings, you can use Get-CsClientPolicy command (something like this: Get-CsClientPolicy -Identity Global) - you need to gain some basics of using Powershell. More information about commands: (find command and expand 'Parameters' section) There are three types of policies for reading address book: 1. WebSearchOnly (when cache is not built locally on client) 2. FileDownloadOnly (when cache is built on client - in this case something in Mavericks prevents Lync to do it) 3. WebSearchAndFileDownload (if client does not support caching, e.g. Mobile app, it will be using websearch in other way - filedownload) In our case it was the 3rd one in our settings and it was not possible to find contacts, unless we used full email address. Settings this policy to 1st fixed the issue.
